This part always gets me, not just because of the situation but because of Oliver. Just think - that really is his brother lying on the floor, not just another actor. He’s not just George seeing Fred, he’s Oliver seeing James. It’s not just a role he’s playing, and that’s what makes it almost unbearable to watch.
LEAVE ME ALONE TO SOB IN A CORNER.
I read somewhere they could only do this scene half a dozen times or so because it was so emotionally draining for Oliver.
AHH SHIT PEOPLE WHOEVER MADE THIS BURN IN FUCKING HELL
reminding people that this happened
NO TEARS GO AWAY
FUCK YOU TEARS
And the award to the best “heartbreaking” post is to…
this STILL makes me cry like a fucking baby
HEY NO HOLD ON, I won’t have you belittling the actor who plays Percy just because you want to say that Oliver Phelps is a great actor. You see, Percy was always a ‘detached’ member of the weasly family. Throughout the books he’s been morally ambiguous because of his connections with the Ministry even when it went dark. So, it’s super-natural for him not to break down and look down stoically when he sees his dead little brother. Percy is a character who would not break down but still be really sad and upset maybe even on a different level because he has been so detached from them and now people who he wanted to make amends to are dying. So, in short, these actors are both “Living the part.” It’s not cool to say one is and one isn’t.
